I'm not sure how many people saw Ron Paul's performance in the South Carolina debates last week, but he hit one out of the park with his analysis of US foreign policy and the concept of blowback. Taken in the short form he stated that, "[terrorists are] over here because we are over there." Giuliani pulled out the 9/11 card and rebutted with, "That's really an extraordinary statement, as someone who lived through the attack of 9/11, that we invited the attack because we were attacking Iraq. I don't think I have ever heard that before, and I have heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11." I saw one of my favorite artists last night perform a DJ set based on his latest CD Foley Room , and an upcoming collaborative release. I'm not sure anyone but my younger brother cares about this, but it was everything you think it should be. There was less ambient style tracks and instead he pieced together a very danceable realm of breakcore, Dnb, Big Beat, and Dark ambient while still maintaining the jazzy undertones and chest crushing long throw bass, all using the same samples he constructed his CDs with. The best part is I was able to chat with him for 5 minutes or so while hanging out in the lobby. He signed a CD for me and I picked up a nice shirt. He was very polite, and gracious to a fault. For my brother's sake I hope he comes back through Texas soon.
