Hey! That is not how you play it

Image
You know that silly thing you may have done as a child (I know I did this) where you squeeze your cheeks together so your lips pucker out, and you start with "Hi, my name is Chubby"?  Phoebe was sitting on my lap and I was squeezing her face.  She did the "Hi my name is Chubby" part perfectly, but then I told her to say "My dad is chubby" and she says "Yeah."  I am totally laughing and I look back at BJ who has a scowl.  He says "Do Mommy!" So I tell her to say "My mom is chubby" while squeezing her face again, and she looks at me and says "Mom, you're chubby."  More laughing ensues and I realize my 4 year old is too young to 'get' this game, and if I don't want to be called fat anymore I won't play it with her.

Daphne did it.....

Daphne did it, she really did it, and she is only 5 months old!  I thought the fighting and weeping and wailing from sibling problems between Phoebe and Daphne would not begin for a year or more.  Today proved me wrong!  I am in the other room and I knew Phoebe was entertaining Daphne in the living room.   I suddenly hear crying from Phoebe--the kind of crying she does when Sophia has hit her or hurt her feelings in some way.  She comes to me in tears holding out her horse puppet and says "Daphne did this!!!"  What was it you may ask?  Spit up, lots of it, all over the puppet.  Phoebe was genuinely upset with Daphne for 'ruining' her doll.  I had to explain how she did not do it on purpose and can't help spitting up.  Tears were dried, the puppet was washed and dried, and all is forgotten......um, for now at least.
