I came across this article on the Wall Street Journal regarding manufacturing and parts of Japanese and American automakers. There used to be a good excuse to buy American. You know, because it gives jobs to American workers. Apparently as Japanese auto makers move their manufacturing and parts facilities here, American auto makers are outsourcing. After hearing dealer commercials and Ford TV spots asking us to sacrifice our hard earned dollars on vehicles that are less American than a Nissan Titan, you find yourself wondering why you should deal with the hassle of a big 3 car.     I have to say I could have guessed this but as Im anti-Ford anyway I would have never bought a Mustang to begin with. =)

    Its nice to see that they are taking a vested interest in our country and economy rather than simply trying to get as many dollars out of the country as possible like in the 80's. (from what I hear at least)

    Even though Im more of a European car person I have though about getting a Civic as a daily driver.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
