Design Complete.... for now

After tweaking and editing, then realizing there were inconsistencies between the previous version of this theme and this current one, I can finally say I'm done.... for now. Now it's just a matter of pretending I have interesting thoughts that friends and family will want to read. I'm sure where I fall short Heather will be able to shine through with poignant thoughts about life and motherhood. 50 years ago diaries and journals were private. Now more people than ever record thoughts where everyone can see them, even manipulating search engine systems to encourage complete strangers to read their thoughts. Most of the time the only person who really benefits is the person doing the writing, while trackbacks, link rings, and comment spammers turn google into a carnival of SEO snake oil salesmen, where the only legitimate links were the ones you already knew, but you had forgotten the exact address.

I feel sorry for real mesothelioma patients. While looking for a cancer support group they're introduced to redirect sites and comments in an irrelevant blog somewhere in Finland so a rat can get a few more bucks from his adsense account.

That sure sounds bitter. I love the internet and the ability it has to bring everyone closer together. It also makes it much easier for people to be taken advantage of.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
