Crazy Weather
I'm not sure that I believe this screen print of my weather widget, but I had to post it. Life has been pretty typical on the homefront, and without turning on the news, going outside, or looking at your electricity bill you might think everything was normal. Sophia smiles, laughs, coos, and generally tracks anything she's interested in until the object of her interest is out of sight.

Work is great, but to be honest, I probably won't be writing much about it because blogging and work, generally, do not mix. I will say that I enjoy not getting 80 phonecalls a day. Everything is just peachy at home, provided my house doesn't cave in due to the water restrictions in place. Jennifer(Heather's oldest sister) is in town so I'm spending some time with her and her kids, while planning for a final at the end of this month.

I've already signed up for classes next semester, and to be honest I'm a little intimidated by my discrete math course. We'll see how that works out.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
