Amon Tobin DJ set in Dallas

I saw one of my favorite artists last night perform a DJ set based on his latest CD Foley Room, and an upcoming collaborative release.

I'm not sure anyone but my younger brother cares about this, but it was everything you think it should be. There was less ambient style tracks and instead he pieced together a very danceable realm of breakcore, Dnb, Big Beat, and Dark ambient while still maintaining the jazzy undertones and chest crushing long throw bass, all using the same samples he constructed his CDs with.

The best part is I was able to chat with him for 5 minutes or so while hanging out in the lobby. He signed a CD for me and I picked up a nice shirt. He was very polite, and gracious to a fault.

For my brother's sake I hope he comes back through Texas soon.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
