New camera, (Happy Birthday Heather)

Heather's Birthday isn't for a month but our old point and shoot camera is on the fritz. It wouldn't turn on so I tried hitting it... since that works so well for other electronics, and sure enough it turned back on long enough for me to pull the last few pictures from it.

It's an old camera with a bad flash sync that overexposes everything when the flash is on. So I wanted to get something that would take better low light shots. This meant a higher end point and shoot, or girding up and dropping some money on a DSLR. Heather and I talked and we decided to go with the DSLR. Heather's Nikon d40 was dropped off yesterday by UPS and Adobe lightroom was downloaded yesterday evening. She knows I'll probably be using it more than her, so to call it hers is possibly disingenous, but Heather looks at our old photos and albums more than I do. Advantage Heather.

Because of this new camera I'm starting a new category for photos within the blog. I'll start it off by posting the last photo taken by our old camera. In this photo we see Sophia doing her best Axl Rose impression. Cap, Sunglasses, kilt, and a self confident strut.

  1. I love it. That picture's one for the ages...or at least her first serious boyfriend...or prom date...or fiance. :) Makes me laugh.

  2. I truly believe this is the best picture ever we have taken of Sophia! The entire outfit and silly toothy grin are all too perfect together. This picture makes me smile every time.
