Name calling

I have said Sophia's middle name to her and around her several times in the past. I didn't ever think she was catching on that "Ruth" was also part of her name. I was talking with her one day and I think I said something like "little girl" or similar to that and she tells me "No! I'm Sophia RUUUTH!" That was the first time I heard her say that, but apparently BJ had heard her weeks before say this. Then again today I addressed her by "young lady" and she says "I no young lady! I'm Sophia RUUUTH!" I guess her name will only suffice for now! We have started trying to teach her her last name as well. At first she was repeating back to us "Actually" but now it sounds more like "At-ech-el-ee". Now BJ is getting all excited about her learning her full name he wants to teach her her phone number and address. I told him he might be getting ahead of himself. I am happy with Sophia Ruth Atchley for now!

    LOL I love how she refers to herself in the third person. She always has to use her name. Its so adorable!

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
