WARNING! For mommies and daddies only!
Sophia has watched Disney's Aladdin for only the second time in her life this week. It was the last few minutes of the movie and I was standing near Sophia to stabilize her while she stood on the office spinning chair. Out of nowhere she grabs me (I thought as if to hug me) but she forces my face to come near hers. Her head is tilted to one side and she has her mouth hanging open in this strange way. I thought "What the heck is this child doing?! This is new!" In a split second it hits me, and I burst out laughing while I pull her away from me and tell her "No way!" I am still totally laughing my head off when BJ comes in and asks what is going on. I ask him what he remembers happening at the last part of Aladdin and he doesn't. I rewind it a bit and let all of us see this again. There is Jasmin and Aladdin embracing each other. First looking into each others eyes and then both their mouths hang open and they lip lock. I tell BJ "THAT is what your daughter just tried to do to me! She was totally gonna french me!" So, BJ and I get her attention and do a quick french kiss for her and explain that they were "french kissing" not simply "kissing" like we do with her. The special kiss is only for mommy's and daddy's, NOT for mommy's and daughter's to do to each other. I don't know how much of this odd Monday night lesson got through to her because she tried to do it to me again nearly an hour later. BUT what I think I have learned from this is to be even more careful with what she watches because who knows what she will want to mimic next! Yikes!
Oh my goodness that has got to be one of the funniest things EVER! My gosh that child never ceases to amaze you eh? LOL TOO FUNNY!
ReplyDeleteWow, how funny! Good for you for explaining...it would be too weird to get tongue from your two-year-old!!! I was just thinking about how careful we have to be with what Yoroko watches- even G-rated Disney stuff isn't necessarily a good idea!!
ReplyDeleteMax only gives open mouth kisses, though sometimes he uses his teeth as well.
