From the mouths of babes......
Sophia has been saying the funniest things lately. She pays attention more than we think to what we say. She might not use her sentences perfectly, but there is truth there......

The Brown family was visiting a couple weeks back. Adrian says to Max, her 18 month old, "Max, I have a feeling you are about to make trouble." Sophia, coming out of the pantry declares in an earnest voice, "Mama! I want to make trouble too. I wanna make trouble!" I am sure she thought "trouble" was food, because I always say I am going to "make" something as opposed to saying I am "cooking" or "baking."
Yoroko, their 3 year old, and Sophia are playing in bed. Yoroko covers her with the blanket and asks, "Are you okay friend?" Sophia replies, "No, I have dead batteries."
Sophia sticks a red, plastic ball down her panties and with a big smile tells me, "Just like a penis!"
We have been working with Sophia to cover her mouth and nose when she sneezes. She had a very bad habit of sneezing ON people thinking it was very funny. She has been doing well but does need reminding when she fails to do so. She sneezed and I reminded her "Sophia, we always cover our face when we sneeze." She matter-of-factly tells me "No, it's all over." And she was right! She wasn't sneezing anymore so what did it matter?!
Uncle Michael is currently on a mission in Utah. We explained to her months back when he left where he was going and what he was doing. We tried to help her understand why she won't see him for awhile. For the first month she would ask about him every once in awhile, but these last few weeks have been something else! She talks about him and asks about him almost every day, and even when BJ and I were gone in Oklahoma, my mom said she talked about him too. We can ask her, "Sophia, where is Uncle Michael?"
"On a mission." Sometimes it will be "At the temple." Because we have a picture of him on our fridge in front of the Dallas Temple.
"Where on a mission?"
"In Utah." Or "In the city."
For now there is comfort in knowing she has not forgotten him yet and hopefully never will until he returns!
Phoebe is catching on with words at a fast pace now and can say more phrases. She told Kib, my in-laws dog, the other night to "Go away!" while she was eating. She tells Sophia to "Stop it!" "Don't!" or "Go away!" And how can I blame her when Sophia hassles her so much?

So funny! I can't wait to hear what they say when they start talking to each other. There are few things more interesting than talking, reasoning children!!
