Loving this age

I have been cautious about any excitement I may have about Sophia turning 3 years old. I hear lots of stories about how difficult or hard 3 is, worse than 2! However, most of those have been about boys, so maybe it is different for 3 year old girls. I have felt like 2 was pretty good for Sophia. If I take out all the fighting and frustrations I have about her contact with Phoebe, Sophia is a funny, sweet, silly, little girl.

Last month we celebrated her 3rd birthday. We kept it much simpler this year than her previous 2 years. We went to Peter Piper Pizza with BJ's family and ate tons of pizza and used up 50 tokens in the play area.

Phoebe adored this clown car that moved back and forth. I swear she rode that thing 10 times.

We had such a good time and I didn't have to deal with preparing or cooking any food! I did, however, make cupcakes for Sophia and we all came back to the house to sing to her and do presents. The big gift this year was a sandbox (from Granny and Grandad) with lots of sandbox toys. Nana got dinosaurs for it too and they have been a big hit! The girls have probably dumped a whole bag worth of sand on the grass, patio, and on my kitchen floor. It is a good thing sand vacuums up so easily. The sandbox will really keep the girls entertained this summer!

To Sophia, happy birthday baby! I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us. I love you more than you may ever know.

  1. Happy birthday, Sophia!! Three was a great age for us, four has been a bit of a challenge. :) Love the sandbox, I was thinking about getting one for our kids. Kids and dirt, what could go better together??
