Sophia says..

I was putting Sophia down for the night. We have a little procedure that she seems to love. When she's sleeping in her top bunk she likes me to carry her "like a princess", lift her up, and place her in bed. I like to mix it up a bit so sometimes I'll place her gently on her bed and other times I'll drop her unceremoniously upon her mattress. Last night I lifted her high above my head to where she could easily touch the ceiling. I then pretended I was about to drop her as I feigned a loss of balance. She began giggling furiously.

After laying her down and kissing her forehead she turned to me and stated, "Daddy, you do some crazy stuff... but you also do some giggly stuff, so I love you." It's nice to know she can quantify why she loves me.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
