Sophia speaks!

Sophia FINALLY gave a talk in church on Sunday 10-10-10. BJ was ecstatic about the date, silly boy. We had been waiting and waiting all year for her to be able to talk in church as a Sunbeam. The closer it got to December the more nervous I got. But her turn finally came and her parents were giddy to say the least. Her wonderful Daddy prepared the talk for her and helped her at the pulpit. This was her talk:

"When I am having fun I like to invite friends to have fun with me. When I am happy I like to share how happy I am with the world. Life is better when we have more friends to play with and talk to.

In church and in the scriptures we learn about Jesus Christ. He teaches us how to be happy. We can show others his teachings by being a good example. We have to say nice things, be polite, and show that we can be like Jesus Christ. My Uncle Michael is on a mission in Utah. He teaches people about Jesus Christ. We can be missionaries too by being nice to others and inviting our friends to learn about Jesus Christ so they can be happy like us!"

I don't think I can even begin to explain how perfect she was! She was not nervous or scared. She walked straight to the pulpit, stepped on the stool, looked forward and waited for Daddy to whisper the words in her ear. She didn't boom her voice into the microphone, but she didn't speak too softly either. It was her lovely normal speaking voice, and she said each word clearly with no mumbling or speaking too fast. I could not stop grinning from ear to ear the whole time she spoke. BJ and I both had no idea how she would do and we were just so proud of her when she was done.

The Primary Program is in just a couple weeks and we have been working really hard on her line and the song the Sunbeams have to sing. She has taken it all very serious and has it all memorized almost 100%. Her mama and daddy cannot wait until then! Way to go Sophia!!!!!!
