When a child's vocabulary is larger than their comprehension....

Phoebe has always (well at least since she has been talking) been good at repeating words after all of us and saying the word accurately too. However, she clearly does not understand what the heck she is saying. I know we already mentioned this in a previous post, but just to refresh....

BJ had been going to the bathroom, he wanted Phoebe to leave, so he asked her to leave because he needed privacy. After repeating himself and Phoebe seeming confused she finally said to him, "But I can't FIND privacy."

Well Phoebe is at it again! I love sunflower seeds, and the girls have discovered they like eating them too. There was one night when Phoebe should have been in bed and I was eating some. She came over to me and I quickly hid them. She asked what I was eating and I told her, "None of your business." We went through this a few times of her asking me what I was eating and me repeating myself of it not being her business. She eventually asked me (because she never discovered it was seeds) if she could have some of my "business." I laughed and tucked her back in bed and that was that. We revisited "business" today. BJ had just bought a bag of soy nuts and the girls were eating them as fast as they could. Phoebe then asked for more of "Daddy's business." I almost died laughing! She let me know "Daddy's business is yummy."

We will definitely have to clear this matter up with Phoebe. We can't have her walking around calling food "business", can we?!
