Daphne....and other lovin'

Last week we found out we are having girl #3!!! BJ will do a post of his own about how he feels, since he is so outnumbered now. Having another girl is a dream come true for me and I am super excited. We have known for some time now that if it was a girl we wanted to name her Daphne. We have not agreed on a middle name yet, but we are very pleased with our choice of Daphne. Yes, we acknowledge that all three of our girls will have a PH in their name and that they are all Greek Goddess names; it just sorta worked out that way.

I have to say I am beyond impatient and excited for this little girl to get here! I have several days where I become overwhelmed with a feeling of love for this baby and a strong desire to just hold her and snuggle. I know in my heart these girls are going to be wonderful big sisters to Daphne. Phoebe, as I mentioned in a previous post, pretends she has a baby in her belly. A day never goes by that Phoebe isn't playing with the 2 babydolls she has and being a little Mommy to them. Today I taught her about burping a baby after feeding. Sophia has told me several ways she will help with the baby: feeding, changing the diaper, holding the baby, and playing with her. They kiss my belly and give it hugs. Daphne will be the perfect addition to our family and will make us whole. Hurry and get here little girl, because we are dying to meet you!

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
