The girls apparently know what's what around this house......

Phoebe was wanting to play and climb on the couch.  The laptop was in her way and she get frustrated.  She picked it up and firmly placed it on the ottoman while exclaiming, "I don't NEED this!!!  I'm not a daddy!!!!"  Me thinks she associates the computer too much with someone in this house.

Sophia was playing with the new Barbies she got for her birthday.  Barbie is a computer programmer (seriously, she comes with a cell phone and laptop with carrying case).  Anyway, so she had her new Ken doll and Barbie "hugging" each other.  She brings them to me and tells me, "Look mama, they are hugging and kissing!"  I of course  needed to ask, "Are they married?"  "Yes." Was her definitive reply.  Since Barbie is a computer programmer, and we explained this to her when she got the doll, I was curious as to what she would come up with for Ken.  So I ask while pointing to him, "What is his job?"  Without thinking about it or skipping a beat she replies, "He's supposed to do all the things Barbie need him to do.  They're married."  I replied, "Oh okay."  Then walked off quickly totally laughing to myself to go tell BJ what she said.

Proof these kids know how it is in this house.  Good or bad.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier.
