On a funny note, Heather went as a tired mom. Complete with baby food on her shirt, frumpy pants, messed up hair, and running make-up. When she walked outside one of the neighbor kids asked, "Are you going to dress up?"

    Is Phoebe being a zombie unicorn in these photos? She's got the expression exactly right. Daphne makes an adorable pea. Heather's costume is great but maybe just a bit too realistic. I'm apparently not the only one who thought so.... :)

    Phoebe likes making faces at the camera. I think it's a 4 year old thing. I remember Yoroko, Sophia, and all the cousins doing the same thing at 4.

Running simplescalar on Ubuntu in alpha config

I have to post this for future reference as there were so many pain points just getting simplescalar running that I needed to mirror some links and consolidate some tutorials. Here's a good guide to installing simplescalar . I'll mirror some of the information from another guide that worked for me as well. The first link also contains the files you'd need to get it running. I'll also rehost them here. Here's a tutorial taken from here. Download the packages here. simplesim-3v0d.tgz simpleutils-990811.tar.gz simpletools-2v0.tgz gcc-2.7.2.3.ss.tar.gz Untar the source code into a simplesim directory mkdir simplesim (wherever you want to put this...you can name it whatever) tar xzvf (the z flag unzips a gzip file as well as untars it.... if you have straight tar files then use tar xvf ) In simpetools-2v0.tgz, there is a gcc-2.6.3 compiler. Phoebe loves shoes

OMG Shoes. Phoebe loves them. At any given moment Phoebe is either swapping shoes, trying on shoes, or digging through someone's closet for new shoes. Our recent trip to Bryan, TX to visit family, brought us to a children's play museum. There was a small selection of dress up items which of course included shoes. Phoebe immediately began prancing around in her new shoes. 59585|400 Heather wanted some pictures of Phoebe in her cousins boy clothes as well. I Don't Mind

I don't mind the rapid spreading contagion of nerdity (I made the word nerdity up, which I think makes me a nerd. A fact that was never in doubt). My only lament is her hesitance to adopt my music. Seriously, I listen to some awesome music. Every week I find new bands, new sounds, and every once in a while I find gold. The only problem is that I've trained myself to like the weirdest stuff I can find. For example: [audio:01-unexpect-chromatic_chimera.mp3] The band is called uneXpect. They're probably considered metal but they have a certain jazz/circus music/opera influence. They're similar to Sleepytime Guerilla Museum but much heavier. Anyway, I'm a huge fan and really have to suggest picking up their latest release In a Flesh Aquarium . I've also been doing some hunting lately and need to share the fruits of my searching.
