What's new with Daphne?

I know, I know.  I have not posted in a long time.  I don't think I have managed to figure out life with 3 children.  Daphne was born and a lot of things in my life I used to do or keep up with is no longer happening!  Anyway, so on to the the real reason you are reading this post....

Daphne started walking at 10 months and is now currently 16 months old and has completely mastered walking AND running.  She HAS to run to keep up with her very busy sisters of course.  She still only has 2 teeth but it does not stop her from eating whatever she wants.  Eating baby food did not last long.  Why should it when you can be eating steak or grilled chicken??  Her hair seems to be taking its sweet time to grow and what she IS growing is turning into a mullet.  It is growing much faster in the back than on the sides and front.  What is growing in the back will not stick to her head either.  Her hair is growing down and out which makes it look fluffy and crazy.  I shake my head at how silly her hair looks sometimes and only hope it improves with age.  Otherwise we will have a little girl on our hands who will HATE her hair and we will never hear the end of it.  It is very light, much lighter than her sisters were which makes me wonder if it will end up staying lighter than theirs with time.  Her eyes are also very different.  The blue she had is still changing and almost going away.  She has green around her pupils and bluish-grey for the rest.  One of these things is definitely not like the others!

She isn't saying too much as of now.  She has her standard "mama"and "dada" with mama still being her favorite and most popular thing to say.  She can also say "wow", "whoah", "night-night", "uh-oh", and "bye bye".  She uses the sign language that I taught her (and her sisters when they were this age) and finds other ways to communicate.  She is very smart and loves to mimic her big sisters, particularly Sophia.  She is happy and well behaved (for a one year old), full of energy and love for her family.  Daphne is a dare devil like her sisters as well.  She can actually climb the ladder to the play set we have out back and go down the slide by herself--a feat that shocked and scared both her parents.  We let her do as she pleases as long as one sister is out there to keep an eye on her.  She received a baby swing for her birthday and loves to sit in it and have someone push her.  She enjoys being outside and gets sad and/or angry when someone leaves the house and she can't go too.

This kid loves to dance.  She has for several months now and the moment music starts (it could be from a commercial, TV show, movie, or from a CD) and she will bust out her moves.  She has several, but very much enjoys watching and learning from Sophia.  Watching her try to imitate Sophia dancing is a great source of entertainment for me.

I worry for when she is 2....or 3.  She is already prone to small tantrums and let's us know when she is angry with us.  They don't last long, but she is full of sass!

  1. So, um, not to nag, but um, pictures? She sounds like so much fun. Maybe she'll be the one with your hair color instead of BJ's. Interesting, our kids lately have been going around wishing they had 'BJ hair', which is just kind of weird because it's not as if Mr. Brown and I have intimately discussed BJ's hair or anything. (He has some. It's black.) Mr. Brown said that in high school, people would look at BJ's hair and say, you're going to have such beautiful daughters... and look at that, he has three beautiful daughters. Although they owe a lot of their beauty to you too. :)

  2. Sorry, I had a big backlog built up that kept me from processing any new photos. I finally sat down and processed them all.
