Santa's Father

On the drive home last night Sophia tells BJ and I that she knows who Santa's father is. Surprised and confused we ask who it is. "Noah." she replies. "Why Noah?" Her obvious and sensible answer---"Because he looks like him." Love it. 75700|550

When a child's vocabulary is larger than their comprehension....

Phoebe has always (well at least since she has been talking) been good at repeating words after all of us and saying the word accurately too. However , she clearly does not understand what the heck she is saying. I know we already mentioned this in a previous post, but just to refresh.... BJ had been going to the bathroom, he wanted Phoebe to leave, so he asked her to leave because he needed privacy. After repeating himself and Phoebe seeming confused she finally said to him, "But I can't FIND privacy." 75712|550 Well Phoebe is at it again! I love sunflower seeds, and the girls have discovered they like eating them too. There was one night when Phoebe should have been in bed and I was eating some. She came over to me and I quickly hid them. She asked what I was eating and I told her, "None of your business." We went through this a few times of her asking me what I was eating and me repeating myself of it not being her business. She eventually asked me (...

Sophia speaks!

Sophia FINALLY gave a talk in church on Sunday 10-10-10. BJ was ecstatic about the date, silly boy. We had been waiting and waiting all year for her to be able to talk in church as a Sunbeam. The closer it got to December the more nervous I got. But her turn finally came and her parents were giddy to say the least. Her wonderful Daddy prepared the talk for her and helped her at the pulpit. This was her talk: "When I am having fun I like to invite friends to have fun with me. When I am happy I like to share how happy I am with the world. Life is better when we have more friends to play with and talk to. In church and in the scriptures we learn about Jesus Christ. He teaches us how to be happy. We can show others his teachings by being a good example. We have to say nice things, be polite, and show that we can be like Jesus Christ. My Uncle Michael is on a mission in Utah. He teaches people about Jesus Christ. We can be missionaries too by being nice to others and invi...

Words

The kids have been saying some silly and strange things lately. We get such a kick listening to them! Sophia: Upon putting Beatrice (in her ball) in their large, painted pink dollhouse "She will get distractinated by the paint." Sophia is determined that this baby is a girl, and her name will be "Love." Phoebe, when she has (or even not) beaten Sophia at something, "I won you!" Phoebe was sticking out her tongue and then smacking her mouth. I asked her what she was doing and she tells me, "putting the tongue back in his house." Phoebe in reference to daddy's computer: "impuder" (pronounced im-poo-der) Sophia has always been quite the meat eater. She solidified this position when she saw me preparing a pot roast for dinner. Phoebe and Sophia both wanted to know what it came from, and I told them a "cow." Sophia then tells me, "I love to eat the inside of cows." 75245|550 Phoebe, having put her tongue to the c...
